Also a note tipped in to the front endpaper, citing some London auction information from the 1960's and a very faint pencil notation by someone noting that they bought the book in Wimbledon at Lloyd's Bookshop in 1967. Otherwise very clean throughout. Slight lean to book, (but not cocked). Illustrations of late 19th century European and American posters in black & white on every other page. A scarce and important classic survey of the graphic design of the late 19th century poster. 9" high X 6" wide, 367 pages. This is a very good softcover copy with almost no wear. Signed by Seymour Adelman on the first page, the half-title page, and briefly inscribed. Otherwise completely clean inside and out. It was long ago fitted with a mylar protector so the covers are pristine. Introduction by Adelman. Descriptive catalog by Clive Driver. And a tribute by Maurice Sendak. Illustrated with 48 black & white and 2 color plates. 270 works in the exhibition, all catalogued and in the checklist. 12" high X 9" wide, 78 pages.

Hamilton Text and Cover Papers
This is a very good copy in a plastic comb binding (intact), stiff paper covers printed in color with Hamilton paper sample names: 'Weycroft', 'Andorra', 'Victorian', 'Louvain', 'Carousel', 'Kashmir', 'Gainsborough', etc. No date but ca. 1970's. Each of the 8 paper sample sections has a color printed title page with the different paper weights and characteristics available in that sample, followed by a number of blank sheets in different colors that are available with that sample. Catalog designed by S. Neil Fujita who did all the decorations on the covers and individual title pages, in a playful abstract style. The cover design is signed, also the colophon lists Neil Fujita as the designer of the catalog. Sadamitsu "S. Neil" Fujita (1921- 2010) was an American graphic designer known for his innovative book cover and record album designs. Afficionados will know his works, for example the album covers he designed for Dave Brubeck, like the Time Out album (with the tune Take Five). A number of his book dust jacket designs were memorable, for example the one for Truman Capote's 'In Cold Blood', and perhaps his best, the one for Mario Puzo's 'The Godfather'. 11" high X 10" wide. All printing in offset lithography. Rare. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.

This is a very good softcover copy in silver moire patterned silk wrappers, with a color plate of a pink parasol at the beach by Jullien, tipped on to the front cover. Generally clean inside and out, some occasional foxing, and a small group of indentation points on a number of the pages in the same place. Text in French. This is the April 1926 issue of this catalog prepared for La Grande Maison de Blanc in Paris on the Place de L'Opera. About 24 pages with sections on lingerie, intimites, ladies fashion and gentleman's fashion. Illustrated throughout with line drawings colored with various pastel shades by Jullien. 2 color plates hors texte, one each by Jullien and Pierre Mourgue. All done in a art deco style. Texts by Babette, Germaine Beaumont, Rosine, and Berniere. 10" high X 8" wide, about 24 pages.
