One of the most renowned of miniature books Spielmann thought the type known as "flies' eyes" and measuring about two-point was "the smallest ever employed." The Grolier Club's "Miniature Books: 4000 Years of Tiny Treasures" reports that working with this miniscule type "is said to have injured the eyesight of both the compositor and corrector.
