Ex-libris alla prima pagina bianca. Bellissimo frontespizio illustrato. Tre bellissime incisioni a piena pagina nel testo. Prima edizione italiana di quest’opera del noto poeta, novellista e drammaturgo polacco, Stanislaw Przybyszewski (7 May 1868 – 23 November 1927) che fu uno dei massimi rappresentanti della scuola decadente naturalista e scrisse i suoi componimenti in polacco e tedesco. Formatosi al ginnasio tedesco di Torun, nella zona polacca sotto il controllo dell’Impero Prussiano, si diplomò nel 1889. Spostato a Berlino dove studiò architettura e medicina. Qui si appassionò a Nietzsche iniziando a riferirsi a se stesso come un satanista immergendosi nella vita bohémien della capitale tedesca. Personaggio dalla vita turbolenta, fu una delle figure principali del panorama culturale polacco all’inizio del XX° secolo. L’opera si avvale della traduzione del noto studioso di lingue, docente di filologia germanica, Giacomo Prampolini apprezzato traduttore anche da Prezzolini che lo indicava come conoscitore di un numero “”sbalorditivo”” di lingue, “”un gusto fine, un possesso non comune della lingua italiana””.
