La storia della trasmissione dei testi greci e latini e della loro fortuna nel corso dei secoli è l'oggetto di questo manuale, proposto come guida semplice a un campo di studi classici spesso lasciato in margine: questa storia è la chiave per interpretare correttamente gli apparati di varianti nelle edizioni critiche, ma anche per ben valutare l'importanza della tradizione classica nella cultura europea dalla caduta dell'Impero romano all'Età moderna. La prima edizione, apparsa quasi cinquant'anni fa, andava a colmare un vuoto. Subito in Italia ne fu pubblicata la traduzione (1969), raccomandata agli studenti che dovevano affrontare la filologia e la civiltà del mondo antico, del Medioevo e dell'Umanesimo. Se ne offre ora la quarta edizione italiana, traduzione della quarta inglese (2013), che mantiene l'impostazione delle precedenti, ma è ampliata e aggiornata in profondità, per rendere conto del rapido e costante progresso scientifico delle discipline classiche.

Manifold and multiple choice questions and practices cause the student to be gradually acquainted with the spirit of Persian and Arabic languages. The other subjects of the book are editing of translation and synchronous with translator and the theoretical issues of interpretation.

Testo in sanscrito. "Sanskrit-Chrestomathie" è un'antologia di testi in sanscrito. Intonso. Buono stato di conservazione.
