Reads: 'Rev. Sir As Librarian of the British & Foreign Bible Society I have the honor to state to you that a Resolution has been passed by the Committee of that Society requesting permission to offer to His Majesty as a mark of their dutiful homage a set of Copies of the Versions of Holy Scripture executed or reprinted at their expence. Such a set is hencewith sent to Carlton Palace addressed to you and I am directed to request that you will be pleased to lay it before His Majesty.' In 1820 George IV had wished to appoint Sumner a canon of Windsor but the Prime Minister the Earl of Liverpool objected and so Sumner received a Royal Chaplaincy and the position of Librarian to the King at his London palace Carlton House. Moore's poem is printed on the reverse of the first leaf and facing it on the recto of the second leaf is the score. On the reverse of the second leaf is a 'Revised List' of 'The Enoch Art Song Library' with the date of issue 'June 1920.' at bottom left. There is no copy of this edition in the National Library of Ireland. The only copies on COPAC are at the British Library the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. On letterhead of the National Aviation Day Display National Aviation Displays Ltd. Grand Buildings Trafalgar Square London W.C.2. Undated but with '1932 - 1933 - 1934 - 1935' across the head. Cobham started his National Aviation Day displays known as "Cobham's Flying Circus" in 1932. These displays were a combination of barnstorming and joyriding by a team of skilled pilots in up to fourteen aircraft ranging from single-seaters to modern airliners. The show toured the country calling at hundreds of sites from regular airfields to fields cleared for the occasion. 1p. 4to. In good condition lightly aged worn and ruckled. Nicely printed in black over a halftone red map of Great Britain and Ireland. At head also in red: '1932 - 1933 - 1934 -1954' and at foot: '"Make the Skyways Britain's Highways'. The letter reads: 'Dear Sir/ Please accept my sincere thanks for all the help you have given to make our Air Display a success. I am sending you "Gervase" - I always think of correcting the proofs at Alnmouth and the sunshine there - & your little red cap with the tassel!' She asks if 'Mrs. Erskine' is 'still in Paris' and reports that she 'went down to Wimbledon' the previous Monday 'and had a heavenly day in the sunshine at Elmley house' home of Earl Beauchamp.
