"Pyronema marianum Carus" and "Petrographische Charte von Marienbad" two engraved plates one folded table. Contemporary grained half calf over blind boards. Spine with gilt ornaments and red morocco label with gilt title. Rare mineralogical work by Goethe. Goethe's part "Gang- und Gebirgs-Arten von Marienbad gesammelt und beschrieben" covers pages 55 to 90 including two plates and an important petrographical map. The work was only partly printed earlier in "Zur Naturwissenschaft �berhaupt". The publisher received the manuscript from Goethe during the latter's stay in Marienbad Mari�nsk� L�zne in Czech Republic. "Die Sammlung selbst sammt G�the's eigenh�ndig unterfertigem Verzeichnisse verwahret der Herausgeber als ein sch�tzbares Andenken an des gefeierten Mannes dreimaligen Aufenthalt in Marienbad" from page 55 of the offered work. The botanical part on the Flora of Marienbad is from the King Friedrich August II including his "Index Florae Teplensis" and containing a hand-coloured plate of the fungus Pyronema. The other part mainly concerns itself with the geographical hydrological meteorological and chemical contents of these famous spa waters including a folded table with 13 different chemical substances in six sources.
