Measuring 8-1/2" by 14" and mimeographed on one side as issued the flyer begins "The New Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam is calling the American people to Washington D.C. to MARCH AGAINST DEATH in Vietnam and to demonstrate for life; for an immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Vietnam; for self-determination for Vietnam and black America; for an end to poverty and racism." Une deuxième édition de l'ouvrage a été produite la même année. L'auteur relate au quotidien les expériences vécues et les visites de sites et monuments : "Le lundi 31 décembre, sous un ciel lumineux, des barques nous transportent sur la rive gauche. Montés sur nos ânes, ayant en face de nous les lueurs rosées de la chaîne Lybique, nous nous engageons dans les sables, et nous arrivons à un bras de Nil ; il faut mettre pied à terre et s'embarquer de nouveau. Mais il faut aussi embarquer les ânes, et nous rions jusqu'aux larmes...". Emile Couneau (1838-1920) : graveur, aquafortiste. Il rapportera de ce voyage une centaine d'aquarelles. Emile Delmas (1834-1898) : homme politique et industriel. En 1897, il est l'auteur d'un autre récit de voyage intitulé 'Java, Ceylan, les Indes'. P.
