Collaborateur à l'Encyclopédie, lié à Diderot, Rousseau, Condillac, proche de Montesquieu, Deleyre fut élu député montagnard à la Convention. Cette minutieuse étude sur la philosophie de Bacon contribua, dès la première édition (1755), à propager les doctrines du philosophe anglais et à asseoir sa notoriété auprès des hommes des Lumières. Naigeon inséra cette étude à l'article "Bacon" du "Dictionnaire de la Philosophie" de l'Encyclopédie méthodique Panckoucke. Quelques infimes accrocs à la reliure. Illustrated red card covers measure 8.25" x 5.5". Map folds out to 40" by 31". Undated but appears to be circa 1918. Issued as a supplement to Montreal publications The Family Herald and Weekly Star by permission G.W. Bacon & Co. Ltd., 127 Strand, London. Detailed black and white map of Europe presents the setting of World War I, presumably as a reference for Canadians following the progress of the war. Average wear. Il libro è insieme una introduzione al pensiero di Deleuze - uno dei più importanti filosofi contemporanei - e una ricerca originale sulla concezione di “istituzione” rintracciabile soprattutto nei primi scritti. L’autore raccoglie in questo suo testo, con modifiche e integrazioni rilevanti, alcuni suoi contributi realizzati per diverse sedi: riviste, introduzioni a volumi ecc., per proporre un passo in avanti negli studi deleuziani, un approfondimento dei temi essenziali per la comprensione dell’intera ricerca del pensatore francese.
