Charming edition of 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame' written in French. Marbled hardcovers with marbled design on the front and back inside covers. Spine is dark green with gold gilt lettering and embellishments. Sun bleaching to the edge of the spine turning it tan. Some soiling to the cover. Rubbing to the edges of the cover. The corners have been bumped. The boards are exposed in the corners. Some scuffing to the faces of the covers. Pages show reader and age wear with tanning and some soiling. A few pages have small chips and tears. A few pages had been cut shorter than the rest of the book. Several cracks in the spine throughout the book. A few of the cracks are just beginning to show the binding. A few pages have started to come loose but all stll appear to be secure. Fraying to the green ribbon bookmark. The two part slipcase is complete but has edge wear and split edges thus good condition. It is very unusual to find such a clean copy in the original chemise and slipcase.
