Sclater 1829-1913 a co-founder and editor of Ibis was a well-known and highly productive over 1400 publications ornithologist by trade. He is also remembered for his 1858 paper setting out the faunal regions classification of zoogeography later adopted by Alfred Russel Wallace. He was also secretary of the Zoological Society of London a member of more than forty professional societies at home and abroad and a council member of the Royal Society of London. Assisting him as co-editor of some of the issues was Howard Saunders or A.H. Evans until 1931 when C.B. Ticehurst took over as editor.<br /> Now subtitled the International Journal of Avian Science it is in its present form a peer-reviewed scientific journal which covers ecology conservation behavior palaeontology and taxonomy of birds. For it’s first nearly one hundred years however the journal focused on a more popularistic type of article often introducing species and images to the public for the first time.<br /> <br /> A group of friends mostly wealthy collectors of bird specimens founded the British Ornithologists' Union in 1858 with the primary intent of starting an ornithological journal. The first volume of the journal The Ibis appeared in 1859. Lists of species observed by traveling ornithologists and long catalogues of specimens obtained on expeditions filled the journal. “This random fact gathering on distribution persisted unchanged from 1859 to the 1940s.†In her article entitled “The Ibis: Transformations in a Twentieth Century British Natural History Journal†in Journal of the History of Biology October 2004 Volume 37 No. 3 pp. 515–555 Kristin Johnson points out in a much more complete and professional manner the difference between “popular†ornithology and “scientific†ornithology study of the living bird in its natural environment more on a biological aspect the transition of which occurred post-1940. Meanwhile the articles appearing in the Ibis were geared more toward the popularization of the science and the spread of knowledge of geographic distribution and the habits and patterns of the various bird species. Edizione originale. Numeri 1 (giugno-settembre) e 2 (ottobre-dicembre) del 1967 e 3 (ottobre-dicembre) del 1968 di «La Délirante» in ottime condizioni. Numero 1 stampato in 1500 esemplari e 2 in 3000 esemplari non numerati. Rivista di poesia fondata nel 1967 dal poeta di origine libanese Fouad El-Etr con la fondamentale collaborazione del traduttore e teorico della traduzione Antoine Berman. Scopo principale del trimestrale - la cui prima serie sarebbe proseguita fino al 1982 - era il recupero della tradizione poetica del romanticismo tedesco, dimenticata nel secondo dopoguerra. Significativa in questo senso la presenza di una traduzione in francese (curata da Berman) dei «Frammenti sulla poesia» di Novalis già nel primo numero del giugno-settembre 1967. A impreziosire la pubblicazione, le belle copertine illustrate e gli eleganti disegni in bianco e nero a piena pagina fuori testo all’interno.

Edizione originale. Tutto il pubblicato, compreso il numero straordinario uscito nel dicembre 1923 in sostituzione del numero del dicembre 1922 mai pubblicato. Fascicoli sciolti in ottimo stato conservati in 4 cofanetti protettivi. La rivista «La Ronda», tra le più importanti riviste letterarie del Novecento, cominciò le proprie pubblicazioni a Roma nell’aprile del 1919. Inizialmente diretta da un comitato redazionale composto da Vincenzo Cardarelli, Emilio Cecchi, Lorenzo Montano, Riccardo Bacchelli, Antonio Baldini, Bruno Barilli e Aurelio Emilio Saffi – ovvero “i sette savi” come amavano definirsi-, a partire dal quarto numero del 1920 la direzione passò formalmente in mano ai soli Cardarelli e Saffi allargando tuttavia il gruppo dei collaboratori esterni che includeva, tra gli altri, Carlo Carrà, Ardengo Soffici, Guglielmo Ferrero e Vilfredo Pareto. Nata con lo scopo di restituire vigore alla tradizione letteraria italiana minacciata – secondo i rondisti – dalle spinte sperimentali e avanguardiste (con i futuristi, ma anche Pascoli, riconosciuti come principali responsabili dell’impoverimento della letteratura contemporanea), «La Ronda» vedeva in Manzoni e, ancor di più, in Leopardi i modelli a cui guardare. Non a caso, proprio a Leopardi sarà dedicato il corposo numero triplo del marzo/aprile/maggio 1921 «Il Testamento letterario di Giacomo Leopardi» con la curatela di Vincenzo Cardarelli. Nonostante la condivisione di questa causa comune e il forte legame di amicizia tra i membri fondatori, la rivista cessò le pubblicazioni dopo neppure 4 anni di vita a causa di forti divisioni interne: il penultimo numero uscì infatti nel novembre del 1922 prima che nel dicembre 1923 venisse pubblicato, con la dicitura “numero straordinario”, l’atto finale di questa fondamentale avventura culturale ed editoriale tesa a ridare vita e nuove identità al classicismo e alla sua eleganza.

Quotidiano di opposizione») e in formato settimanale dall’8 luglio al maggio 1981. Da aprile a luglio 1980 e da giugno a luglio 1981 si fonde con il settimanale «Compagne e compagni» ed esce con il titolo «La sinistra - Compagne e compagni». Direttore responsabile era il giornalista Nino Bertoloni Meli.

Edizione originale. Tutto il pubblicato dal 1908 al 1916 compresi i fascicoli di «La Voce Politica» in ottimo stato di conservazione. Fascicoli sciolti conservati in scatole in tela per ogni anno con tasselli ai dorsi con titoli oro. Fondamentale rivista fondata nel 1908 a Firenze da Giuseppe Prezzolini e Giovanni Papini e diretta quasi ininterrottamente dallo stesso Prezzolini (fatta eccezione per l’aprile-ottobre del 1912 in cui la direzione fu presa da Papini e per l’ultimo biennio di attività 1914 - 1916 retto da Giuseppe De Robertis). Estremamente attenta anche a problemi di ordine politico e sociale – manifestando particolare sensibilità per l’alfabetizzazione, lo stato della scuola e per la questione meridionale - «La Voce» fu per 8 anni una fucina di elaborazione e divulgazione letteraria, artistica e culturale in senso ampio che ospitò contributi da alcuni tra i nomi più importanti e autorevoli del panorama italiano del tempo: dagli interventi di Croce, Amendola, Salvemini, Einaudi alle parole di Slataper, Michelstaedter, Boine, Stuparich, Sbarbaro, Rebora, Campana, Ungaretti. Sorretta – come testimonia la presenza di Benedetto Croce – da una forte vocazione antipositivista e filoidealista, la rivista – che avrebbe dato vita anche a storici progetti editoriali, come le “Edizioni della Voce”, i “Quaderni della Voce” e la “Libreria della Voce” – non mancò di essere attraversata da tensioni e infine da divisioni insanabili che avrebbero ancor prima della chiusura nel 1916 condotto all’allontanamento di due figure fin lì centrali, ovvero il co-fondatore Giovanni Papini e Ardengo Soffici. Nel 1913 infatti, in aperta polemica con l’impostazione estetica nonché valoriale vociana improntata sull’impegno anche sociale della cultura e dei suoi protagonisti (benché più ferocemente critica nei confronti della politica attuale che ideologicamente chiara fosse la posizione di Prezzolini), i due avrebbero dato vita al quindicinale «Lacerba».

First published by John Tipper in 1708 and including household receipts in cookery and medicine alongside the traditional astronomical and chronological almanac fare the popular success of the mathematical puzzles included at the end of the first edition influenced the future direction of the publication. The subsequent editors included several influential mathematicians such as Thomas Simpson 1710-1761 and Charles Hutton 1737-1823. Era diretta da Lea Melandri e aveva una redazione formata da donne di diversa formazione culturale e politica e variegata esperienza di vita. Tra loro Giovanna Grignaffini, Laura Kreyder, Paola Melchiori, Rosella Prezzo, Paola Redaelli, io stessa. Il suo intento non era di entrare nell’agone ‘femminista’, propugnando una propria linea sulla falsariga di altre riviste o aggregazioni di donne che si erano date strutture imparentate con gerarchie chiesastiche o partitiche evidentemente intrinseche al nostro italico dna» (Maria Nadotti, recensione a «Rossana Rossanda. Lievi tracce di usura ai piatti dei volumi e carte dei fascicoli occasionalmente brunite ma nel complesso ottimi esemplari. Numeri 1 - 26 del gennaio-giugno 1891 e 1 - 25 del gennaio-giugno 1894 della rivista «Le Courrier Francais». Fondato nel 1884 da Jules Roques e attivo fino al 1911, il settimanale illustrato si impose come uno dei più popolari e influenti periodici satirici del periodo a cavallo tra XIX e XX secolo. Dedicato, come recitava il sottotitolo, a “letteratura, belle arti, teatro, medicina, finanza”, il giornale in uscita ogni sabato si presentava come una raccolta di testi, approfondimenti e notizie accompagnati da vignette e belle tavole in bianco e nero a piena pagina. Ai numeri collaborarono importanti illustratori come Adolphe Willette, Jean-Louis Forain, Henri Pille.

Fascicoli sciolti in ottimo stato con brossure originali ben conservate (tranne numero 124 privo del piatto anteriore) raccolti in cofanetti protettivi divisi per annate. Rivista quindicinale fondata a Torino nel 1924 da Pitigrilli, al secolo Dino Segre, figura tanto sinistra quanto affascinante della prima metà del Novecento: benché nato in una famiglia di origine ebraica, Segre non fu soltanto un sostenitore del fascismo ma anche un informatore dell’OVRA (la polizia segreta fascista) sospettato di responsabilità dirette nell’arresto di svariate e spesso illustri figure dell’antifascismo piemontese (tra cui Giulio Einaudi, Piero Martinetti, Leone Ginzburg, Vittorio Foa, Cesare Pavese). Scrittore di successo di romanzi erotici e umoristici, Pitigrilli fu anche editore di diversi periodici a partire da «Le Grandi Firme», periodico ammiccante al bisogno di evasione, di divertimento e alle fantasie sessuali del pubblico borghese a cui era destinato attraverso “novelle” di autori importanti o famosi (da segnalare, nei numeri 65 e 73, racconti di Marinetti ). Leggera e innocentemente provocatoria, la prima serie della rivista continuò le proprie pubblicazioni fino all’aprile del 1937 quando venne ceduta per motivi finanziari ad Arnaldo Mondadori. La nuova serie – iniziata con il numero 308 del 22 aprile 1937 sotto la direzione di Cesare Zavattini – si presentò con un formato rinnovato e con le copertine affidate all’illustratore Gino Boccasile caratterizzate dalla celebre “Signorina Grandi Firme”, donna moderna, disinibita e maliziosamente goffa che avrebbe dominato la grafica del periodico fino all’ottobre del 1938 quando Mussolini ordinò l’immediata chiusura della rivista. L’immagine femminile eccessivamente emancipata comunicata dai disegni e dalle strisce a fumetti di Boccasile, infatti, nonché la pubblicazione di un racconto di Paola Masino - «Fame» - incentrato sulla condizione di estrema povertà di molti italiani risultarono inaccettabili per il regime, decretando la fine di questa eccentrica avventura editoriale.
