‎Autograph letter signed 'Nafia Seferberlik Müdürü Sadi Seçmeer' sent to Safiye Hüseyin Elbi, (1881-1964).‎

‎Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original autograph letter signed 'Nafia Seferberlik Müdürü Sadi Seçmeer', recipient is Safiye Elbi. 20x13 cm. In Ottoman script. 1 p. One paged script in four pages. Safiye Hüseyin was the daughter of Ahmet Pasha, who is a diplomat in England. He completed his education in Europe. Elbi contributed to the development of modern nursery in Turkey. She attended international congresses held in Germany and Switzerland during the Ottoman Imperial rule and received many medals. When the Çanakkale War begins, Safiye Hüseyin was a volunteer nurse and given to the Resit Pasha Hospital Ship as the chief nurse. She also served as a nurse in the Balkan Wars, (1912-1913). After the proclamation of the republic, she worked with a superior waiver in all charities and associations. This letter sent to Elbi by Ministry of Prosperity Mobilization Director, Sadi Seçmeer. Letter indicating which regiment she wants to choose. Probably she was an educator in some Republican charities and army. 1 full p. Ankara, dated 20th of September, 1938.‎

Ces Mémoires constituent une source vivante sur les milieux militaires et policiers du Premier Empire, dont ils éclairent les intrigues et les réseaux d'influence.Aventurière et courtisane d'origine néerlandaise, Ida Saint-Elme, née Elzélina Van Aylde Jonghe (1776-1845), suivit les armées napoléoniennes et fréquenta les cercles militaires et politiques de son temps ; elle faillit épouser le général Moreau, fut la maîtresse du maréchal Ney et aurait servi dans la police secrète du Premier Empire.Selon Quérard, sur la base des papiers laissés par l'autrice, les deux premiers volumes furent rédigés par Antoine-A. Lesourd, les six suivants par Pierre-Armand Malitourne. Amédée Pichot fournit le "Voyage en Angleterre". Charles Nodier contribua à quelques fragments détachés. Le diplomate Charles Maxime Catherinet de Villemarest, enfin, se trouva avoir alimenté ces Mémoires à son insu.La connaissance précise de ces milieux par les co-auteurs, jointe au fonds d'expériences vécues fourni par Saint-Elme, confère à ces récits une réelle valeur documentaire.
