Very Good Croatian First Edition of this very early and rare translation into Croatian (in any European language) of 'Sokollu' by Ahmed Refik Altinay, (1881-1937) including Sokollu Mehmed Pasha's first biography in any language, the Ottoman grand vizier (1565-1579) who served under three successive sultans including Süleyman the Magnificent. Signed and inscribed in Ottoman Turkish by translator Delitch, to Tahir Alangu, (1915-1973), who was a Turkish folklorist. Sokollu (Serbo-Croatian and Bosnian: Sokolovic), is a prominent Bosnian family of Serbian ethnic origin. Notable members of the family were high state officials in the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century. Prominent members include Sokollu Mehmed Pasha, Ferhad Pasha Sokolovic, Makarije Sokolovic, and Savatije Sokolovic. This book is the first book which is dealing with this family in depth. Ahmet Refik Altinay was a Turkish historian, academic, writer and poet, who gave history lectures at Darülfünun after the First World War. Ahmed Saib was born in 1859 in Dagestan. After completing his education in military schools in the Russian Empire, he entered the service of the Ottoman Empire with the rank of captain. He was in the Sultan Abdulhamid II's Hassa Cavalry Regiment and under the aide of Gazi Ahmed Muhtar Pasha, the Extraordinary Commissioner of Egypt. Later, he left his military service and published the newspaper Sancak (1899-1907), which spread the ideas of Ottoman liberals against the tyranny of the sultan since 1899 in Egypt, in the city of Cairo, and included articles on the constitutional struggle and the political structure of the period. Murad V was the 33rd Sultan of the Ottoman Empire who reigned from 30 May to 31 August 1876. The question of Sultan Murad V's enthronement in 1876 was a very strategic move for the Young Turks in its period. Only three copies in OCLC: 427392804.; Özege 19913. First and Only Edition. "The book you are holding is the first volume of a project titled "Niyazi Sayin: A Detailed Transcription of his Taksims." This first book consists of certain taksims and solos by Neyzen Niyazi Sayin, notated with all ornaments indicated in detail. The taksim is a Turkish instrumental musical form that displays all the technical and tonal features of the instrument in question. The goal of this work is to assist the student of the ney by clarifying, through notation, the elements that form the Niyazi Sayin school of ney performance, and presenting all the details and performance characteristics in a well thought out, orderly manner. Another reason for the detailed notation of Neyzen Niyazi Sayin's taksims, which have played an important role in the musical development of many neyzens and other instrumentalists, is to create the most accurate visual resource concerning the courses, characteristic choice of notes, melodic stacking and ornamentation of the taksim form in Turkish music. I have prepared this book, which should be studied and followed closely while listening to the album "Sadâ," as a visual atlas to the extraordinary artistic skill of this legendary neyzen.".
