He later became president of the Maccabaeans. Bentwich was a founder of the British Zionist Federation in 1899. From 1916 to 1918 he served on the Zionist political advisory committee under Chaim Weizmann. Along the way we learn of his multiple marriages and how demographic change in Detroit severely affected his investments in rental properties. He was active in the Institute of Historical Review for many years and a longtime friend of historian Harry Elmer Barnes. 256 pages.
