Complete and unabridged stated with 10 cautionary tales for children each with a lesson on morals that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehavior in an exaggerated way. Every page contains color illustrations. Written entirely in German. Der Struwwelpeter is one of the earliest books for children that combines visual and verbal narratives in a book format and is considered a precursor to comic books.<br /><br />Condition:<br />Light soiling to the covers; stains and a couple small tears at the outer edge of the front cover; 1/2" tear at the top of the spine. The book is tightly bound with no loose pages. The pages at the front half of the book have a stain at the outer margin; no writing; a couple random ink smudges found.
