Hoffmann let the toy figures which he had bought probably for his children during a trip to Nuremberg now coming to life in a fabulous way. -Heinrich Hoffmann 1809-1894 was a physician and treated patients suffering from pancreatic cancer. In Frankfurt he had a new clinic for psychiatry in which the patients were not blocked off but treated a tremendous novelty for that time.
