Anfang 1717 kehrte er zur�ck und wurde Kustos der Biblioteca Vaticana. 1763 fand er in einem griechisch-orthodoxen Kloster in Jerusalem eine Handschrift in altslawischer glagolitischer Schrift die seitdem Codex Assemanianus genannt wird. - Tl. 1. behandelt die Maroniten und Jacobiten Tl. 2 die Nestorianer. - R�cken etwas fleckig Decken beschabt.
