In-16, plein maroquin bordeaux de l'époque, dos à 4 nerfs orné de compartiments fleuronnés et cloisonnés, triple filet d'encadrement sur les plats, filets sur les coupes, tranches dorées, xvi, 303 p. Edition en 20 chants publiée à Genève par Cramer selon le catalogue de la BnF, l'année de la première reconnue par Voltaire. Elle contient la Préface de "Don Apuleius Risorius, bénédictin", composée par Voltaire pour l'édition 1762. En 20 "chants" inspirés de 'l'Arioste', le récit spirituel des amours de Jeanne, ou plutôt de ses difficultés, à travers de rocambolesques rencontres (un hermaphrodite, un franciscain vicieux, un muletier salace...) à demeurer vierge un an, selon la prescription de Saint-Denis. Puis les douze mois franchis, la perte, avec un chevalier, de la caractéristique physiologique qui donne son titre à l'oeuvre. Petit manque de papier en coin d'un feuillet. Exemplaire un peu manipulé. Gardes blanches renouvelées, quelques rousseurs et taches éparses. (Bengesco, n°489. Voltaire à la BN, n°1907). Exemplaire relié en maroquin de l'époque.

Le figure sono tutte femminili e raffigurano donne in uniforme, crocerossine o combattenti, calate in uno scenografico contesto, a comporre questo curioso oggetto di tipico gusto germanico. Cofanetto in tutta percallina beige, piatto ant. riccamente decorato e colorato in nero / rosa /argento / oro; greche, fregi e strumenti artistici, con due immaginette di putti argentati e di una donna in uniforme che anticipa le umoristiche scene che compongono questo particolare album, piatto post. decorato con fregi a secco impressi agli angoli, fogli di guardia rivestiti in carta decorata, ali pieghevoli a chiudere l’album. Usuali tracce alla legatura, minimi segni marginali delle tavole, peraltro ottime. .
