Bradley, J. L. (editor)
Ruskin: The Critical Heritage
No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, small tear to top edge of one page where edge badly cut by printers and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased with slight sunning to spine and spine margin. 436pp. This study of Ruskin aims to suggest how differing publications of the Victorian years received his major writings and to indicate the place of the man and his work in the last third of the 19th century.

BRAGA, Edgard (Maceió, 1897 - Sao Paulo, 1985),
Ilha brilha Tranquila
Poor Old Tired Horse (P.O.T.H) no. 21. Poesie concrete di E. Braga. Introduzione di Augusto de Campos. Stampa tipografica di Nigel Sutton. Stampato in rosso. Allegato catalogo del 1967-1968 della Wild Hawthorn Press.. 8vo. pp. 8. . Ottimo (Fine). . . . Edgard Braga, physician and / or poet, b. 1898, Brazil, seems to have adopted as a badge of poetry the last verse of Mayakovsky: Though the years silvery hue proclaims itself in abundance, I hope and believe that shameful circumspection will never come to me. After a lohg experience with modern (post-symbolist) poetry, he came to concrete poetry, in 1959. (Augusto de Campos)

Brainard Joe
The Friendly Way
Toronto: Proper Tales Press 1991. First Edition Thus. 8vo 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches / 215 x 139 mm 16 pages in publisher's original side-stapled wrappers designed by Brainard. Slight sunning near the spine and a bit of handling wear else clean and bright. A Near Fine copy. INSCRIBED by Joe Brainard on the title page: "For Ann and Ken with / LOVE / Joe." This warm inscription was for Ann and Ken Mikolowski founders of the Alternative Press. Brainard 1942-1994 was a regular contributor to the Mikolowskis' publications which consisted of letterpress-printed mail art. A nice association. The Friendly Way originally appeared in 1972 typewritten and mimeographed by Siamese Banana Press of New York. In 1991 Proper Tales Press of Toronto issued what it termed this "resurrected" edition of 200 copies featuring Brainard's quirky short takes on life. Example: "I figure the world will give me just about what I deserve." Cover art by Brainard of course. A scarce publication one that's especially elusive when inscribed by Brainard. No other signed copies in commerce as of April 19 2018. SCARCE.

Proper Tales Press unknown books

Brainard Joe and Anne Waldman
Self Portrait
New York: Siamese Banana Press 1972. First Edition First Printing. 4to 8 1/2 x 11 inches 216 x 280 mm 78 pages on rectos only in stapled wrappers. Foxing to front cover rubbing to rear cover staples a bit rusty. Interior clean and bright. A Very Good copy. Terrific collaborative effort by two giants of the New York School. Joe Brainard and Anne Waldman respond in their own handwriting to a subject such as Age Romantic Smoking I Must Be Growing Old Scattered-Brain and a variety of other prompts. Here they are on Four O'Clock: Brainard: "When it gets to be around four o'clock and I have no plans for the evening I start getting nervous." Waldman: "One of the best times in the morning. Most often ambiguous or just plain boring in the afternoon."

Siamese Banana Press unknown books
