Il patrio Municipio argomento di reverenza e gaudio all'Eminentissimo lodato offeriva testimonio di grato animo verso l'illustre oratore pubblicava.

Portfolio containing 111 loose mounted plates (complete) of which 11 in colour, with a booklet of 81, (1) pages in Russian containing descriptions of the plates + a smaller (8vo) booklet with short descriptions of same in English. Folio. Portfolio of olive green cloth with decorative blind stamping, titles in Cyrillic on front. Originally compiled in Iran in the middle of the 18th century by Muhammad-Hadi, Muhammad-Baqir and Muhammad-Sadiq, and acquired in 1912 from the Russian Musuem to which it had been given in 1910 as a personal gift of Emperor Nicolai II. It has been housed since in the permanent collection of the Institute for the History of Material Culture in Leningrad (formally known as the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of the Peoples of Asia). It contains reproductions of the works of miniature painters and calligraphers Abu-I-Hasan Nadir as-Zaman, Ali-Quli-Bek Jabbadar, Bayak, Govardhan, Gul-Muhammad Haddji Muhammad, Manohar Das, Mansur, Mir Kalam, Muhammad-Baqir Muhammad-Hadi, Muhammad-Riza-yi Hindi, Muhammad-Sadiq, Muhammad Sultani, Muhammad-Zaman, Nanha, Visnu Das, Mir Imad al-Hasani. Presentation copy by the Library of the Institute of Peoples of Asia, Academy of Sciences, Moscow, to my father, Anton Gerits (here written as Geritz), dated October 29, 1964.

Russian Socialist Federation 1919. Hardcover. Good. Oblong folio 11 x 14 inches string-tied 47 pp with half-tone photographs of scenes and people relating to the Russian Revolution. Place of publication not indicated; we have seen credible suggestions of both Petrograd and New York. We have seen other copies described as having 48 pages so it is possible this copy is missing a page though we do not see evidence of removal. Boards worn spine re-covered and ties replaced title page unprofessionally re-attached on a stub with cloth tape. Chipping to title page and staining to first illustrated page otherwise internally clean and sound. Apparently produced for an American audience captions are in Russian and English a price in dollars is printed on the back cover the album includes portraits of various leaders of the Revolution and officials of the new republic images of groups of workers soldiers and scenes of military action demonstrations celebrations political meetings etc. Russian Socialist Federation hardcover books
