Milano, Andreoli, s.d. (1923). In 8vo (cm. 25,2); pp. 4 di testo e musica + il biglietto da 1.000.000.000 di MARCHI. Le Nazioni vincitrici della prima guerra mondiale decisero di addebitare alla Germania i costi della guerra da loro sostenuti. L’Intesa, durante il Congresso di Parigi del 1919, per volontà soprattutto del presidente francese Clemenceau, decise di accollare le riparazione di guerra alla sola Germania per un ammontare di 132 miliardi di marchi oro (Goldmark) da pagarsi a rate con interesse al 6%. Si trattava di una cifra enorme, pari a circa 31,35 miliardi di dollari oro. Senza nessun riguardo alle riserve d’oro che avrebbero dovuto garantire la valuta, la Germania, durante gli anni Venti, nella fase politica nota come “Repubblica di Weimar”, decise di pagare i debiti di guerra stampando banconote. Questa manovra causò la rapidissima svalutazione della moneta. La banconota da mille marchi fu trasformata con un timbro rosso in un miliardo di marchi. La divertente canzonetta “La Marketerea” prende spunto da questa tragica situazione economica della Germania per ironizzare sulla loro situazione. Axs

Bell'esemplare, fresco e particolarmente marginoso. Si tratta verosimilmente dell'edizione originale di quest'opera, ma in una tiratura approntata per il mercato italiano. La nostra copia risulta infatti legata in Italia, con titoli manoscritti in lingua italiana. Si deve inoltre sottolineare che non appaiono dall'origine i ritratti normalmente presenti in quest'edizione, caratteristica riconducilìbile alla vicenda editoriale appena menzionata.

Very good.This is the finishing nail on the eight hour work day for employees of the Federal Government. A law to much the same effect was passed in 1876 but that was viewed as a recommendation and numerous conflicts arose. This bill sought to make the eight-hour day an undisputed law. It is interesting that all of Section 1 in this printing has been redacted though only with a thin line so legibility remains. Small stamp on front reading "Portland ME. Socialist Branch." Saggio che da' conto della risposta di Antimaco Filalete (Michele Lazzari) al Ragionamento intorno alle antiche iscrizioni di Treviso apparso nel volume X della raccolta del Calogera'. Essendo la risposta di Lazzari molto lunga, venne 'ridotta' in un numero di pagine piu' contenuto per riuscire ad essere inserita in questo tomo degli Opuscoli scientifici.

Analysis of two essays by Rousseau (his famous prize winning Discours from 1750 and the Discours sur l'Origine et les fondemens de l'inégalité) and of several works of Court de Gebelin, particularly his Les Devoirs and his Monde Primitif and in general discussing the question of the origins of man and criticizing the hypothesis of the 'homme sauvage.' The Abbé Legros was member of the Assembly of the Clergy in 1760 and represented the clergy at the Etats-Généraux in 1789. He was also the author of an important critical analysis of the theories of the "Économistes", the physiocrats.

The author was actor at the Opèra-comique and as such greatly appreciated by Voltaire, as well as dentist (of the king of Poland) - A few leaves with a stain in the blank outer margin, one leaf with a small repair to blank upper margin.

First published in 1736, this is the 5th and best edition of this famous work, enlarged with the Eloge historique de l'auteur (by the abbé de Saulx), and two discourses the author had held in Reims, including his description of an antique monument found in Reims. The content of this work is described in Michaud as 'le dessein de Levesque est de prouver que le bonheur est dans la pratique des devoirs.' Levesque was born in Reims, where he studied at the local university. He went to Paris to continue his studies, especially philosophy, and it was there that he started working on Newton's famous Principia. At the age of 22 he tried to explain the difficulties of Newton's famous work and make it accessible to readers. He lived for a year in London, was a friend of Voltaire and Bolingbroke, whom he introduced to a French audiance, and he received David Hume in Reims, one of Hume's first intellectual contacts in France. - With manuscript ex-libris on title-page: Petit Thouars: Georges Aubert du Petit-Thouars (1724-1794) lieutenant and commander of the city and castle of Saumur.

Abili reintegrazioni alle cuffie, esemplare genuino ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Seconda parte di quest'opera che però è spesso proposta singolarmente per il suio carattere monografico e la cui prima parte apparve nel 1756. L'iconografia riguarda l'intero mondo germanico con l'aggiunta, in fine, dell'isola di Minorca. Cfr. Philipps 618.

Cm. 21, pp. 94 (2) + 55 (1) di pièces justificatives. Con una tabella e deu grandi tavole topografiche in litografia più volte ripiegate f.t. raffiguranti i movimenti francesi a Roma e dintorni. Solida legatura coeva in mezza pelle con punte, dorso a nervi con titoli e fregi in oro. Esemplare genuino e ben conservato. Relazione dettagliata ed assai rara. Per l'autore cfr. Iccu che riporta Barbier il quale ipotizza anche altra attribuzione a Oudinot, duc De Reggio.

Dodici tavole illustrano le arti grafiche di Bologna con xilografie originali. Mobili, oggetti, ricami dell’artigianato bolognese. Due Tavole di bellissime Legature eseguite da Luigi Degli ESPOSTI + 2 Tavole di legature di Carati Costa e dell’Istituto dei Salesiani. Oltre vari carmi celebrativi, contiene un cenno storico sull’evento e i profili dei Comuni che aderirono. In 4to (cm. 30); brossura originale illustrata con titolo al piatto; pp. (8), 167, (3), 10. Con 3 tavole a piena pagina fuori testo con i ritratti in bianco e nero di Federico Barbarossa, di Alessandro III e Pio IX e 6 tavole a colori fuori testo con gli stemmi delle città lombarde, piemontesi, venete ed emiliane che aderirono alla Lega (Milano, Verona, Padova, Venezia, Vicenza, Treviso, Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona, Mantova, Modena, Bologna, Lodi, Piacenza, Parma, Ferrara, Alessandria, Novara, Reggio, Tortona, Vercelli, Bobbio). In fine: Il Patto di Pontida, Inno di D. Panizzi musicato per canto e pianoforte dal maestro Isidoro Rossi. Mancano il disegno del Carroccio e 21 pagine dell’Inno. Brossura sciupata, dorso restaurato con nastro adesivo trasparente, macchie di umidità nel testo. Molto raro. PAx
