La "Procession de la Ligue" et la "Singerie des Etats de la Ligue" sont de grandes et très belles planches dépliantes ; le charlatan lorrain, le charlatan espagnol et le seigneur Agnoste sont 3 vignettes dans le texte ; il y a encore une planche gravée hors texte montrant le cadavre éviscéré, et suspendu par les pattes postérieures, de l'Asne Ligueur ; et, dans le Supplément, une planche reproduisant des médailles. Bon exemplaire. Toutes les planches sont en bon état.

Anonymous abolitionist poem in a mid-nineteenth-century hand entitled 'The Fugitive Slave' with the first line: 'I'm weary yet I cannot sleep'. Apparently unpublished.
Without date or place. 3pp. 12mo. Bifolium on ruled laid paper. Fair: aged with a 12.5 x 5 cm section cut away from the top of the first leaf before the writing out of the poem. 63 lines divided into six nine-line stanzas. The stanzas are numbered and the poem is complete. The stanzas are numbered and the poem is complete. Written from the slave's point of view with the first stanza reading: 'I'm weary yet I cannot sleep Dark thoughts of morning make me weep For at the rising Sun I'm told I'll be converted into gold There's no escape I must be sold Because my master wants the gold And I'm his Slave yes I'm his Slave Because my master wants the gold And I'm his slave'. Last stanza describing the slave's flight to Canada: 'At last my dreadful journeys o'er I'm safe upon the farther shore St Georges cross floats over me I've found the land of Liberty. My youths renewed no more I'm old That fear is gone of being sold For now I'm Free Yes now I'm Free The fear is gone of being sold For now I'm Free.' Bifolium approx. 11-1/2 x 16-1/2 in. forming a four-page tabloid newspaper printed on all sides. An elaborate announcement of a mass meeting held at Los Angeles's Olympic Stadium April 6 1940 hosted by the Hollywood Peace Council American Youth Congress and the Congress of Industrial Organizations and a coalition of unions. The newspaper reproduces cartoons and news reports from 1917 harkening back to the previous world war. April 6 marked the anniversary of the United States's entry into that conflict. Beijing: No publication details. Circa1965. Complete set of 20 black and white photographs photographs 15 and 19 not numbered. 15 x 20.3cm. Explanatory slips of paper in simplified Chinese characters measuring 6.7 x 18.7cm are provided for 18 photographs lacking two slips for numbers 15 and 19. Pin-holes at corners of photographs corners little creased one corner chipped. An interesting collection of photographs in good condition. This collection of 20 black and white photographs shows a Chinese and international student demonstration against American imperialist aggression in Vietnam that took place in front of the American Embassy in Moscow in 1965. Photos 1-13 show an initially peaceful demonstration by Chinese and international students that turned ugly after Soviet troops cavalry vehicle-mounted guns and water sprayers were sent in with Russian generals personally taking charge. The chaos can be clearly felt in some of the blurred images where students were being beaten up and arrested. Photograph 14 shows an injured student Huang Zhaogeng being taken off a plane in Beijing on a stretcher. The photographs numbered 15 - 20 show demonstrations in Beijing in support of injured Chinese student demonstrators two leaders making speeches and medical care and support from friends. A handbill using racist epithets to highlight institutional racism in the military and the US stating among other things "Support White Power-travel to Viet Nam you might get a medal!"; "Receive valuable training in the skills of killing off other oppressed people!"; and "-you can't die fast enough in the ghettos." This imagery has also appeared in a 9x12 inch color format substituting the word "needs" for "wants." The Civil Rights Archive has a circa 1966 photo of Kwame Ture Stokely Carmichael handing out this style leaflet. GOOD condition. Moderate toning. Some creasing along the edges and corners.
