In 8°; 26, (2) pp. Bella legatura editoriale in piena carta pergamena con simbolo di Perugia al piatto anteriore in colore amaranto. Diverse figure applicate nel testo. Interessante scritto di Alfonso Visconti di Saliceto pronuciato in occasione del "Congresso della Società Italiana del Risorgimento Italiano" tenutosi a Perugia nel 1907 e che raccoglie alcune lettere scritte da Visconti alla madre durante la campagna in Umbria e nel Napoletano nel 1860. Qualche minoma macchiolina di foxing dovuta alla qualità della carta ma nel complesso buon esemplare. Contiene anche 4 pagine in foglio con lo scritto dello stesso autore pronuciato durante la "Conferenza tenuta a Cernusco sul Naviglio il 13 Giugno 1909 per solennizzare il Cinquantenario della Liberazione della Lombardia".

Pour donner l'exemple, il offre 2500 ouvrages de sa propre bibliothèque. Notre exemplaire du "Mythe du 20e siècle" porte le tampon de la donation Alfred Rosenberg pour la Whermacht 1939. Les suivants portent les dates 1939-1941, ou la mention plus courante : "Büchersammlung der NSDAP für die Deutsche Wehrmacht Alfred-Rosenberg-Spende" : "Als erste Spende stelle ich 2.500 Bücher zur Verfügung. Der Beauftragte des Führers für die Überwachung der gesamten geistigen und weltanschaulichen Erziehung der NSDAP.: gez.: A. Rosenberg, Reichsleiter – Aufruf vom 12. Oktober 1939, Bücherkunde, 6. Jahrgang, November 1939, S. 537". Les ouvrages envoyés au front étaient essentiellement de la littérature de distraction et de divertissement, mais toujours conformes au régime. Particulièrement appréciées étaient les nouvelles, les histoires courtes et drôles, faciles à lire et surtout à terminer à la lueur des bougies. Les ouvrages théoriques de doctrine nazie, Mein Kampf et le Rosenberg, bien que non souhaités par le lectorat, semblent les seuls à avoir été largement diffusés. Bon état. In gutem Zustand.

(poi deputato del Msi). Interessante la sua testimonianza sulle vicende della Repubblica di Salò. Secondo l'autore, tra l'altro, Mussolini voleva giungere ad una pace separata.

Questo libro si propone si essere la ricostruzione globale, in una prospettiva di ermeneutica storica (filologicamente e sociologicamente fondata) della poetica di uno dei pittori più illustri e giustamente "popolari" di tutta l'arte spagnola, Francisco Goya y Lucientes.Goya è oggi considerato, a buon diritto, fra i pochi grandi precursori primo-ottocenteschi dell'"arte moderna" (come in modo diverso lo sono stati, ad esempio, Friedrich, Géricault, Delacroix, Turner...). Tuttavia la sua figura va vista non solo come quella di una personalità artistica di grande talento, ma anche come quella di un uomo che si serve della pittura come linguaggio espressivo per comunicare ciò che è necessario dire a proposito di un mondo che egli sogna, più o meno chiaramente, di trasformare. Goya sembra essere coinvolto in un profondo rapporto d'odio-amore con la storia. In una prospettiva totale "male" e "bene" potevano mescolarsi, ma sulla bilancia della storia il "male" era in eccesso. Di qui il compito della ragione come ragione oppositiva e radicale, nel senso di un congiungimento di intelletto e immaginazione per fronteggiare l'orrore, i "mostri della storia".Attraverso il linguaggio (e il pensiero) "forte" e "agonico" della propria arte (per usare il linguaggio della critica "decostruzionista"), Goya ha messo in atto una pratica creativa della trasparenza razionale nei confronti delle contraddizioni e della brutalità del processo storico. Tale pratica si configura come filosofia stessa della "condizione umana" tramite un'arte che, in modo già espressionista e/o surrealista, vuole proporsi come "valore", al di là di un'esclusiva dimensione stilistica, e quindi in una prospettiva decisamente "anticlassica". Ma la "filosofia" di Goya si fonda altresì sulla consapevolezza non marginale che gli ideali di mutamento, di trascendenza di una parte dell'umanità vengono spesso, troppo spesso, annullati e relegati nel "regno di utopia". E tale emarginazione nell'"utopia" è messa soprattutto in atto dalla "stupidità", dalla "malafede", dalla "follia malvagia" di coloro che a questa metamorfosi si oppongono, mossi dalla insensata volontà di percorrere, senza remissione, i sentieri "demoniaci", ma storicamente determinati, del "male".

First edition of this extremely rare first-hand and historically significant eyewitness account of the Syrian and the Suez Canal Operations during the Great War by an Ottoman soldier and statesman. Erden describes in this book his return to Istanbul after his military attaché duty in Paris and his departure to Damascus to join the 4th Army in Syria under the command of Cemal Pasha (1872-1922). He then discusses the Arab Revolt in Hejaz and its possible effects on the Ottoman Empire (The Arab Uprising was initiated by Sharif Hussein bin Ali in June 1916 during the Great War with the aim of creating an independent and united Arab state comprising of Aden in Yemen and Aleppo in Syria against the Imperial Ottoman). After disclosing his views and the actions of the army in the region, he goes on to describe Jerusalem, the Suez Canal, and the wars that took place there. Erden gave new information on the reasons and results of the Canal operation, the condition of the Turkish army along Palestine and Syria fronts, the relations among the Turkish staff, and the nature of the Arab revolt through his views and observations in Egypt, Palestine, and Syria fronts accumulated as he was Cemal Pasha's chief of staff. Erden was a Turkish soldier and war historian. After graduating from the Military Academy in 1903, he worked in the units and headquarters in Yemen, as the staff of the 3rd Corps in the Balkan War and as the Paris Military Attaché. During the Great War, he served as the Chief of Staff of the 4th Army within the entourage of Admiralty Minister Cemal Pasha in Syria. Özege 16174. Kursun p. 51.

Diplomatic memoirs of Ali Fuat Cebesoy was a Turkish officer, politician and statesman. Ali Fuat Pasha organized the resistance in Western Turkey against the Greek invasion and thus actually started the National Independence War. He contributed to the resistance forces against the Greek army that had begun to occupy Western Anatolia. He signed Amasya Protocol and at the end of the Sivas Congress in 1920, he was appointed as the general commander of the National Forces by the Board of Representatives. The presence of him and his army in Ankara is the reason behind Atatürk's choice of this city as the center of Turkish War of Independence. The same year, he was elected as a deputy at the First Parliament. He was appointed ambassador to Moscow, Soviet Union in 1921, as he had quarrels with Ismet Inonu, who was appointed by Atatürk as the Commander of the Western Front although Inonu had failed against Greek invasion at Kutahya-Altintas in 1921. By personally negotiating with Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin in Moscow, he signed the Treaty of Moscow (1921) along the lines of the Brest-Litovsk Peace Treaty as the representative of the Ankara government, which provided financial and military support from the Soviet Union to the Turkish Independence War, in exchange for the return of Batum back to Soviet Union. After finishing his duty as an ambassador, he was elected as the second spokesman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
