Richmond: The Infantry Journal. December 11939 volume 46 number 6. 111pp. illus. magazine 4to: Very Good condition. Colorful cover illustration "Civil War Christmas" by Howard Williamson that depicts a celebration at a Union encampment in which soldiers revel with abundant food and drink around a roaring campfire while several heavily armed Confederates look on from the shadows. Includes a separate supplementary Roster of Infantry Officers with home stations as of November 1 1939. An especially interesting issue because of its publication immediately after the start of World War II. Contains an article "The German Campaign in Poland" by Lt.
This is a good-only copy due to its somewhat used state. The book is valuable for its many illustrations of the homes of many historical figures PRE-CIVIL WAR which creates an innocent and poignant point-of-view to much of the narrative. Patrick Henry's facsimile letter is apparently missing.

Photos on request.
Alfred W.
