Una costellazione al centro della quale si colloca "Attesa di Dio", raccolta di scritti - composti fra l'autunno del 1941 e la primavera del 1942 - apparsa postuma nel 1949 per le cure di Joseph-Marie Perrin, l'affabile padre domenicano che fu amico, confidente e destinatario delle sei lettere che, dettate da un ineludibile "bisogno di verità", costituiscono parte essenziale dell'opera.
