With a 3pp. A.L.s. on The Pines letterhead dated 14 XII 06 asking an acquaintance to lunch or dinner in hopes of obtaining an "opinion upon a point connected with abeyance in an old barony. It is connected with a novel that I am now working on." The letter is in a secretarial hand but is signed in full by Watts-Dunton. Aylwin the author's best known work is a roman a clef with "a number of disguised Pre-Raphaelite characters including Rossetti". Inner hinges are cracked last 25 pages are shaken but holding small Christmas label on the title page bookplate Library of Thos. D. Murray on front pastedown small bookseller's label on rear pastedown corners are lightly bumped lower corners a little worn base of spine has small tears head of spine is a little rubbed overall covers are clean and bright.
