‎Histoire du renflouement du sous-marin américain S 51 en 1926. — Le 25 septembre 1925, le USS S-51 coula au large de Point Judith après une collision avec le paquebot « City of Rome ». Seuls 3 hommes survécurent sur les 36 à bord. — "Le sous-marin américain S-51 fut abordé au large de Block Island par le vapeur « City of Rome », et coula par quarante mètres de fond. La marine américaine entreprit de le relever. La direction des travaux de renflouage fut confiée au capitaine de frégate Ellsberg qui avait déjà fait preuve de qualités techniques exceptionnelles.
