Offered as a reading/reference copy only due to hairline cracks to front outer hinges along spine. Illustrated with a portrait and several drawings and photos of skin diseases. A summary of the life and works of this pioneer of American Dermatology. Also reprints two of his classic papers: 1 A Case of Keratosis Ichthyosis Follicularis 1889; and 2 Keratosis Follicularis A Second Case 1890. Includes a 16-page bibliography of White's writings. This copy is bound in the original gilt-decorated brown and black boards apparently intended to simulate a 19th-century half-leather and marbled paper-covered board binding. Top edge gilt. The marbled endpapers in this copy are authentic and quite attractive too. Laid-in is the flyer saying this is the fourth volume in the series and providing a summary of the book.
