Pond of The Pond Bureau. The broadside is illustrated with a black & white portrait of Longuet beneath the banner title subsequent boldly subtitled at right of the image listing the Subjects of the lectures "Political Forces in France / Factors of French Policy / France's Place in the World / Reparations / The Growing Role of Internationalism" and reassures the potential audience that "M. Longuet speaks English brilliantly and is at great ease in that language as his own. He was born in London". Biographical text is printed in a small font below identifying Jean Longuet as a grandson of Karl Marx in addition to his credentials. Folded once horizontally with a tiny chip to the right edge of the fold. There is some minor faint creasing. Very good.</p><p>The French socialist politician and journalist Jean Longuet 1876-1938 was Karl Marx's grandson. Born in London the family frequently visited Marx and subsequently moved to France in 1881. A pacifist during the First World War he was active in French politics especially the French Section of the Workers' International serving as a mayor and a member of the French Chamber of Deputies. He was originally denied a visa to lecture in the U.S. in 1920 due to his politics and being the grandson of Karl Marx. After the French radicals split into 2 parties Longuet divorced himself from the Russian Soviet communists joining force with Leon Bloom and becoming one of the leaders of the Left-Wing Conservative Socialists. He was subsequently granted a visa in 1922 and toured the U.S.</p> New York: The Pond Bureau, circa [1922].‎

The aim of this book is an applied and unified introduction into parametric non- and semiparametric regression that closes the gap between theory and application. FONDO DI MAGAZZINO: PARI AL NUOVO, PERFETTO E INTONSO Tutta la letteratura sul "Pierre Bayle" di Feuerbach si aggira intorno a una convinzione: che vi prevalgano aspetti da un lato polemici e dall'altro psicologici, a scapito di un discorso teoretico e comunque filosofico. Ma ridurre il Bayle a un manifesto ideologico o/e a un "diario intimo" è possibile solo se l'opera è riassunta o antologizzata. Per cogliere un altro e più filosofico senso del Bayle bisogna, quindi, vedere l'opera nel suo insieme e soprattutto nel testo della prima edizione (è proprio quello che fa questa traduzione), perché solo cosi si possono cogliere le indicazioni per capirla che l'autore vi ha disseminato. Questa traduzione del Pierre Bayle di Feuerbach, la prima in assoluto dell'opera nella sua interezza, contribuisce a confermare - anche grazie alle indicazioni di lettura contenute nella presentazione della curatrice l'immagine di un Feuerbach - filosofo della nonviolenza, che una lettura episodica e parziale dell'opera sembrerebbe invece sconfessare. Con questo lavoro, infatti, si colma una lacuna (le altre opere maggiori del filosofo tedesco sono tutte tradotte in italiano), ma si facilita nello stesso tempo, a chiunque sia interessato ai temi posti dalla conflittualità, non solo agli studiosi, l'accesso a un libro, in questi senso, straordinario. La curatrice del volume, Maria Luisa Barbera, insegna Storia della Storiografia filosofica all'Università di Siena. Nell'ambito della filosofia sette-ottocentesca, che ha particolarmente curato, si è sempre dilettata di studiare i filosofi visti dai filosofi.‎
