Autograph Letter Signed "Harpo" 1p 7�" X 10�" Cathedral City CA n.y. probably summer 1961. Addressed to Don Woolf. Near fine. In this rare example of a Harpo ALS written on "El Rancho Harpo" letterhead Harpo writes to an executive with a greeting card publisher California Artists which published a series of Christmas cards featuring artwork by movie stars. "Here is my Xmas painting" he writes. "Hope it is not too late for your market. If you use it I would like to send them out as my own personal cards also." Harpo had long been interested in civil rights and the African-American cause so the closing of this letter is quite apropo: "Would like to stick to my original choice of N.A.A.C.P. to receive royalties if any." Full letters in Harpo's hand are quite scarce and one with choice unusual content such as this doubly so. Accompanied by a modern matte finish printed 8" X 10" photograph depicting the four Marx Brothers at the height of their fame. unknown
