These birth marriage and death records have been gleaned from many sources including old town clerk's record books church and cemetery records and the New Hampshire State Vital Records at Concord. Some 5000 entries were found. The book is divided into three sections: births marriages and deaths. Names are listed alphabetically within each section. The source of each entry is identified. Birth records provide date of birth and parents names where available. Marriage records provide date of marriage names of both bride and groom place of mariage if other than Chichester and the name of the presiding clergyman. Death records provide date of death and place if other than Chichester as well as age if known. The appendix includes a list of town officers names of the earliest land owners Warn Out notices and Revolutionary War town orders. Anche quando si presentava nudo nel suo perizoma, emanava grande fascino e suscitava sacro rispetto. Parlava in modo semplice, diceva solo l'essenziale, e avvinceva per la sincerità. Fu molto criticato in vita da chi temeva si vedesse in lui un santo o un eroe, da chi non condivideva l'insistenza sulla dimensione religiosa ed etica della politica, da chi non comprendeva le potenzialità di questa strana miscela di ascetica spiritualità e pratica concretezza. Si è variamente interpretata la sua complessa personalità, considerandolo ora un martire cristiano, ora un leader secolarizzato; ogni epoca, ogni biografo, ogni storico ha avuto il suo Gandhi. Resta il fatto che l'India ebbe fiducia in lui, per milioni di indiani egli era l'incarnazione della verità e possedeva lo straordinario potere di rendere possibile l'impensabile; e furono con lui personaggi come Nehru e Tagore, che gli diede l'appellativo di Mahatma, "grande anima".
