There is a bookplate on the front paste down of "Cecil John Haarlem Mead." The bookplate shows a shield topped with a closed helmet and a left-facing griffin . The shield has two anvils at the top and a ship on the main portion. Beneath the shield is a banner with the motto "Lel Yn Kever Kernow" which is Cornish for "Faithful for Cornwall." The genealogical chart at the rear shows that Cecil John Haarlem Mead was born in 1899 and married Theodsia Avies Shore in 1935. He was a Lt. Colonel.
