ROOSEVELT, Eleanor & FERRIS, Helen
YOUR TEENS AND MINE
Garden City: Doubleday & Company Inc. 1961. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper. SIGNED by the former First Lady on the front endpaper. Roosevelt advises how a teen-age girl can grow to be a gracious lady by recounting her own experiences of overcoming shyness and facing her fears. A few pages in the penultimate chapter have pencil and pen markings with some words crossed out and a few added apparently in preparation for reading from the chapter. The handwriting does not appear to be Roosevelt's but possibly may be Ferris's. In any case it's an interesting alteration to an already uncommon book especially when autographed.

Doubleday & Company, Inc. hardcover

Counter Coup the Struggle for the Control of Iran
New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company 1979. First. . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. x 217 8 pages of black and white illustrations publisher's half cloth binding dj with some rubbing and looseness not price clipped edges nibbled. Itself a cover-up the book conceals more than it reveals of the CIA's plot master-minded by the author to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Mossadegh after he had nationalised the assets of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company in Abadan in 1953 Of great interest is the plot running in -parallel to achieve the same end led by British MI5. The installation of the Shah which resulted coupled with the rising resentment against western interests did much to consolidate populist sentiment and was a cause if not the major one of the Iranian Revolution of 1979. There is an enignmatic gift inscription on the ffep "For John Hollingsworth I'm sure you remember some of the players Ed. Mc."- John Hollingsworth is presumed to be Lt. General John Hollingsworth Chief of Military Intelligence Operations at the Pentagon. The signature is unreadable. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾

McGraw-Hill Book Company hardcover
