Schelling «contra» Hegel. Il permanere di un'alternativa nella teologia contemporanea

Le concezioni filosofiche di Hegel e Schelling non possono essere appiattite l'una sull'altra e confuse all'interno di un'unica visione del mondo ma, al contrario, devono essere concepite come risposte differenti rispetto alla domanda intorno al destino del divino: ma che cosa è rimasto, nel pensiero del XX secolo, dell'intensa contrapposizione tra questi due autori? Questo libro si presenta come un tentativo di osservare da vicino il problema, scovando tracce della sua presenza nella grande complessità della teologia protestante del secolo appena trascorso: lungo le pagine di questo lavoro, la teologia radicale, o teologia della morte di Dio, di William Hamilton, Thomas J.J. Altizer c Dorothec Sölle, riproposizione di un pensiero hegeliano volto a 'superare' il divino, ed il sistema di Paul Tillich, rielaborazione del punto di vista schellinghiano indirizzato invece ad affermare una rinnovata presenza del sacro nel reale, vengono dunque a presentarsi come eredi di un dibattito e di una alternativa mai sopiti entro gli sviluppi del pensiero occidentale.

Dopo aver esaminato attentamente i fatti e scartato alcune delle maggiori, ha voluto regale ai lettori una sua personale conclusione. Edgar Allan Poe era davvero uno scrittore maledetto? La sua falsa biografia ha influenzato così tanto la nostra opinione sulla sua immagine? Per la critica della notte. Saggio sul «Tramonto dell'occidente» di Oswald Spengler
br. La civiltà occidentale tramonta sulla notte della tecnica dispiegata. È lo scenario della decadenza, la quale però, come dice Benjamin, "non ha niente da invidiare, quanto a stabilità e magnificenza, alle fasi ascendenti". Da un lato Spengler, fedele al paradigma biologistico, dà una scadenza alla tecnocrazia (all'incirca il 2200), dall'altro lascia indizi piuttosto compromettenti circa la sua effettiva durata. Un acuto lettore come Jünger non aveva dubbi: il mondo della tecnica non cesserà di finire. La Zivilisation, infatti, non è il contrario di una Kultur, ma la sua riproduzione tecnica. Una politica adeguata a questa situazione - una 'politica del tramonto' che oggi non andrebbe confusa con il chiacchierato tramonto della politica - trova ricetto nel mito spengleriano del cesarismo.
