M. habe ich richtig erhalten, und beeile mich Ihnen anzuzeigen, dass Sie in Betreff des Ludwig unbesorgt seyn können, die Sache ist ausgeglichen! - Meine Familie, welche Sie herzlich grüßt, ist Gott sey Dank recht wohl, auch mit meiner Gesundheit geht es recht gut! Wenn es so fort geht werde ich viel jünger werden, als ich vor meiner Krankheit war […]". - Der in Berlin geborene Lucas debütierte 1826 als Schauspieler in Linz. 1829 wechselte er nach Preßburg, von dort an das Theater an der Wien und 1834 ans Burgtheater, dem er bis an sein Lebensende angehörte. - Die eh. Datierung könnte als 1817 missverstanden werden. Anhand der Biografie muss der Brief allerdings nach 1829 datiert werden, eventuell 1851 oder 1847. - Auf Briefpapier mit gepr. Wappen und gepr. Zierrand.

Seit 1868 Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, wurde er 1872 Vorsitzender des Komitees zur Gründung des Sophienspitals in Wien; daneben war Vivenot Direktor des Unterstützungsvereins für Witwen und Waisen des medizinischen Doktor-Collegiums. - Ohne die erwähnte Aufmerksamkeit. - In altem Sammlungsumschlag.

Wilhelmi und Dr. Neumann um für einen wohlthätigen Zweck zu spielen, bey meiner Zurückkunft erfahre ich soeben daß der schöne Carl La Roche auf einige Tage nach Gloggnitz gereist ist um dort in ländlicher Einsamkeit zu studiren, oder zu buchstabiren - - letzteres ist mir wahrscheinlicher; übrigens ist er sehr rege, wir werden diesen Sommer wieder eine Reise zusammen machen, vorläufig ist Nürnberg das Ziel, mir scheint aber, wir werden ein Stückchen weiter kommen. Vorgestern hat in Pressburg ein Duell zwischen dem Banus von Croatien, Haller, und Grafen Telekky stattgefunden, letzterer ist durch den Arm geschossen [...]". - Lucas kam nach Engagements in Linz und Preßburg ans Theater an der Wien und von dort ans Burgtheater, dem er bis an sein Lebensende angehörte. - Der erwähnte Duellant Haller ist General Franz Gf. "Nach Jahren als Ensemblemitglied in Prag erhielt sie 1861 auf Anregung Giacomo Meyerbeers einen Vertrag in Berlin, den sie nach beispiellosen Erfolgen 1872 brach, um Gastspielreisen durch Europa und Amerika zu unternehmen. 1874 kehrte sie nach Wien zurück und sang bis 1889 an der Wiener Hofoper, deren Ehrenmitglied sie wurde" (DBE).

Zusammen 3 SS. 8vo und 4,4:9,7 cm bzw. 16,4:11 cm. Dankt dem Journalisten und späteren Wiener Kulturstadtrat Hans Arnold Schwer (1856-1931) "für die ausserordentliche Liebenswürdigkeit, mit der Du meine Bitte erfüllt hast [...]". - Die Photographie (Brustbild, nach rechts gewandt, mit vierseitigem Goldschnitt, dat. 15. V. [18]98) stammt aus dem Hause des k. u. k. Hofphotographen Rudolf Krziwanek, Wien und Ischl. - Insbesondere durch seine sechsjährige Verkörperung komischer Rollen am Theater in der Josefstadt bekannt geworden, war Ludl nach 1899 am Münchener Gärtnerplatzheater zu sehen, wo er “namentlich in derb-komischen Rollen in österreichischem oder bayerischem Lokalton seine Erfolge [erzielte]” (Eisenberg, Gr. biogr. Lex. der dt. Bühne im 19. Jh., zit. n. DBA I 785, 436). - In altem Sammlungsumschlag.

Dust jacket price clipped and slightly foxed but not marked or torn or creased. 134pp. The first Russian grammar ever published originally in 1696 based on the author's personal observations during his stay in Russia which gives an accurate description of the colloquial language at the time. Also includes a phrase-book with specimens of that genuine colloquial Russian not found in texts. The Latin Appendix contains interesting information about Russia's natural resources and the life of its inhabitants. Scarce.
