August in Wien. Mehrere Wochen zuvor war er aus Karlsbad nach Wien gekommen, wo er sich im Santaorium "Hera" einer Nierenoperation unterzogen hatte, was sich anfangs auch recht gut anlief; wenig später jedoch verschlimmerte sich sein Zustand, eine Herzschwäche und ein allgemeiner Verfall der Kräfte gesellten sich hinzu und binnen weniger Tage verstarb er.
