An "Freund Friese", wohl der Schauspieler Carl Adolf (1831-1900): "Wenn Sie Zeit und Lust hätten, heute Abend einen hochadligen Zirkel durch Ihr herrliches Talent nach beendeter Vorstellung zu erfreuen, so geben Sie gefälligst umgehend Nachricht [...]". - Carl Treumann - 1847 nach Wien gekommen, auf Empfehlung Franz von Suppès an das Theater an der Wien verpflichtet und in Volksstücken und musikalischen Lustspielen erfolgreich - trat seit 1852 neben Johann Nestroy und Wenzel Scholz am Carltheater auf. Seines Amtes seit 1858 müde geworden, befürwortete Nestroy Treumann als Nachfolger des von ihm seit Karl Carls Tod 1854 geführten Hauses. "Es kam aber anders. Treumann übernahm nicht das Carl-Theater, sondern das Theater am Franz Josef-Quai, das nicht lange bestand; 1863 fiel es einem Brand zum Opfer" (Basil, Nestroy. Rowohlts Monographien132. Reinbek b. 4 SS. auf Doppelblatt. Sieben Strophen zu je acht Zeilen (ohne Überhang). Gr.-4to. Stark (und wohl von anderer Hand) bearbeitetes Manuskript eines "Couplets": "Ein Herr brummt: Hört's auf mit der dummen Türkei - | Bedenkts nur den Mißbrauch, die Vielweiberei, | A Serail kann doch nicht nach Europa gehörn | Die Harems die müssen ganz ausgemerzt wern! | Der Herr hat ganz Recht - aber g'spaßig is nur | Er macht selber z'gleich mehreren Madeln die Cour - | Und hat auch allerweil Liebschaften 2 oder 3 | Wegen was macht er nacher [!] das dalkete G'schrei [...]". - Stärker angestaubt und fleckig und mit starken Randläsuren; Bl. 2 verso mit zeitgenöss. Vermerk "Autogramm aus dem Besitze der Witwe Carl Treumanns, Frau Anna wiederverehelichte Benischko".

Hardcover spine is slightly cocked. Two small abrasions near middle of hardcover spine and hardcover spine foot. Lower two - thirds of hardcover spine has a single scratch down its length. Hardcover spine ends are worn and bumped. Minor wear to hardcover leading corners. Page block is faded and rather grubby. Pages are a little sunned, with one or two instances of light age - spotting. (Worte Goethe's aus dem Jahre 1827) [...]". - "Deutschland hat, um sich gegen den auf ihm lastenden ungeheuren Druck zu erhalten, nur eine Möglichkeit: nämlich ihn zu negiren, dadurch daß es ihm, dem Materiellen, ins Geistige ausweicht [...] Es muss das Land werden, auf dessen Fahne stehen: NÄCHSTENLIEBE, GERECHTIGKEIT, KUNST, WISSENSCHAFT, ALLGEMEINWOHL".
