<p>"Gertrude Temple" who also signs for her daughter and her husband and Lowe's Inc. representative Nicholas Mayfack on Loeb and Loeb legal paper Los Angeles October 14 1941. 2 separate pages 8 1/2" x 14" stapled to the original folder. Fine fresh nice example. "Stipulation and Amendment of Order" filed by Loeb and Loeb Attorneys amending Temple's earnings contract and setting forth the maximum fees her agents could be paid. Temple was still a 13 year old minor at the time hence the need for court approval and her parents signatures. Temple attempted a comeback in 1941 by appearing in the film "Kathleen." She was embarrassed by the poor script and left MGM as the film was completed.</p> unknown books

Fuller Maitland introduces this elaborate production of Handel's pastoral opera "Acis and Galatea" and Henry Purcell's "Masque of Love." Shaw served as musical director and Craig son of actress Ellen Terry as stage director. Tipped to the front flyleaf is a heavy stock 11" X 8½" handbill announcing these two productions listing cast show times etc. between March 15-22 1902. A scarce booklet with even scarcer handbill. Text in French. Boards lightly scuffed diagonal loss at the bottom corner of the upper cover of volume 2 about one inch by half an inch amateurishly repaired with cello-tape which also affects the lower corner of the text block diminishing through p. 147 text unaffected modest foxing & toning mostly at endpapers & pastedowns previous owner's small address label on the front pastedown of each volume; jackets modestly rubbed soiled & faded particularly volume 2 with some short tears & losses & a few old tape repairs on the versos a serviceable & generally attractive set. <br/><br/>Splendidly illustrated mostly from photographs the first two volumes were also issued separately in an edition of 2000 numbered 500-2500. The third volume provides a history of the Fratellini brothers whose engagement at the Circus Medrano in Paris France after World War I sparked a strong resurgence of interest in the Big Top.
