Schubert orientiert sich streng an den nachweisbaren Lebzeit-Exemplaren der Formen Lehmbrucks in getöntem Gips, getönten Steingüssen oder Hart-Stuck (Kunststein), in gebranntem Ton (Terracotta) und in Bronzen - das heißt, es wird die schwierige Aufgabe gelöst, das genuine Oeuvre Lehmbrucks, das hinter den zahlreichen Nach- und Neu-Güssen der Witwe seit 1920 entstand, zu rekonstruieren. Freilich wurden auch die posthumen Exemplare katalogisiert und weitgehend abgebildet. Das Buch gliedert sich in einen einführenden Textteil zur Würdigung der historischen Leistung Lehmbrucks, einen Farbtafel-Teil, einen zweiten Textteil zu den komplexen Fragen und Problemen eines Werkverzeichnisses und den eigentlichen Katalog-Teil mit 501 schwarz-weiß-Abbildungen. Weitere 109 Abbildungen in den vorangehenden Texten veranschaulichen die gestellten Fragen. Schutzumschlag minimal berieben. Sehr gutes Exemplar. Schubert strictly follows the verifiable lifetime examples of Lehmbruck's works in tinted plaster, tinted stone casts, or hard stucco (artificial stone), in fired clay (terracotta), and in bronzes ? meaning the challenging task of reconstructing the genuine oeuvre of Lehmbruck, which emerged behind the numerous posthumous casts produced by his widow since 1920, is tackled. Indeed, the posthumous examples are also catalogued and largely illustrated. The book is structured into an introductory text section that honours Lehmbruck's historical achievement, a colour plate section, a second text part addressing the complex questions and issues of compiling a catalogue raisonné, and the actual catalogue section with 501 black-and-white illustrations. An additional 109 illustrations in the preceding texts shed light on the raised questions. The dust jacket slightly rubbed. Fine copy.‎
