Garden City / New York: Junior Books / Doubleday Doran & Company 1933. Book. Illus. by Bilibine Ivan. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. In blue boards with red titles to upper board and spine. Illustrated with eight colour plates eight black and white plates and black and white in-text illustrations by Ivan Bilibine. Red endpapers with white illustrations of a frog wearing a crown. Top page edges stained red. Title page states "Junior Books." Stated first edition on copyright page. There is another version of this book that states "Junior Literary Guild" on title page and also states first edition on the copyright page. I suspect that my version is the true first based on the fact that the Junior Literary Guild existed into the 1960s and its imprint probably replaced the Junior Books imprint. Some wear to boards and spine including small crunches at corners. A few very scattered and minor stains. No writing inscriptions bookplates missing pages or water damage. All plates in fine condition. Rare. Please email for more information or photographs. Junior Books / Doubleday, Doran & Company Hardcover
