Four signatures from people in government who attended the event. 4 pp. unnumbered housed in larger wrappers. Two full page illustrations on upper and lower wrappers 8 smaller vignette illustrations throughout. 9" x 6-3/4" <br/><br/>Duke Ormsby worked for the San Francisco Municipal Railway from 1914 - 1951. Signatures are on the first page. Four signatures from Elmer E. Robinson 1894 - 1982 - 33rd Mayor of San Francisco Duke C. Ormsby - General Superintendent of Transportation who is being honored Chas. D. Miller - Operating Manager Municipal Railway and George W. Evington - Committee. The illustrations on the wrappers depict assumed to be Duke C. Ormsby working and dreaming of fishing by a creek on the upper wrapper and fishing and thinking about work on the lower wrapper. These were done by another member of the committee Chas. L. Reed. One could also say he did the smaller illustrations as well base of style similarities. Dishes served at the event had silly names realting to transportation such as "Crab Salad a la Muni Railway" "Cable Car Poullet" and to drink "High Octane Wine"! Progam started with an introduction from Donald Mazzoni the Master of Ceremonies from Wm. H. Scott a presentation from J. H. Turner Manager of Utilities and ending with a response from D. C. This dish is claimed to have originated in San Francisco although New Orleans also makes this claim the jury is still out. Basically an oyster loaf is set up the same way as San Francisco's "Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl". It starts with carving out a sourdough loaf buttering the inside pan-frying oysters in bread crumbs then layering them in the carved out loaf until they fill the top about 25-30 oysters while adding lemon and parsley as you go. Then you bake it. Ta-Da! The stamp on the menu reads "GUINNESS AND OYSTERS ARE GOOD FOR YOU" and the stamp on the slip reads "Featuring - Inglenook Sauterne or Burgundy Splits . 15". unknown books

Vignette drawing of the inn p. 1. 18" x 11-7/8" <br/><br/>Hailing from the 19th C the modern history of the Inn began "in 1939 when Danish immigrant Irl Hinrichsen acquired the Inn. With the help of his sons he remodeled the Inn discontinued use of the upstairs hotel rooms and renamed it the Sycamore Inn. The Hinrichsen family Irl and later his son Vern and his family made the Sycamore Inn into one of the prime eateries of the Inland Empire. That old dirt road that fronted the Inn became the fabled Route 66 the primary route from points east to the Pacific Ocean. During those colorful years of the 30's 40's 50's and 60's before freeways the Inn hosted the rich and famous.movie stars and notables both the famous and the infamous en route to Las Vegas and Palm Springs. The Inn is rich with folklore. Legend has it that both Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Short the "Black Dahlia" dined at the Sycamore in the weeks before their untimely demise." Front & rear cover with full color photographic images of Albuquerque scenes e.g. "Mexican Hat Dance". 12-1/2" x 9" <br/><br/>La Placita Dining Rooms opened its doors in 1935 and remains in business in Old Town Albuquerque. This particular restauarant has an unusual claim to fame in that it's said to be haunted by four spirits. Sightings have been reported. unknown books

It gives a brief history of the family the restaurant and a bit about Fisherman's Wharf along with photographs of the wharf before and after and dinning halls. A cute piece of Tarantino's history outside of menus. An excerpt reads "We 'The Two Irishmen of Fisherman's Wharf' are natives of San Francisco. To our many San Francisco friends and customers who have aided us so very much sincerely we say 'Thank you'.
