A good copy only: the extreme lower forecorners are a bit creased and occasionally ragged; the front wrapper has the lower extreme fore- corner chipped away and there is a short tear near the toe of the spine resulting in the loss of the extreme lower spine corner of the lower wrapper and last leaf; there is a small chip in the lower wrapper at the spine crown; there is an 11 cm internally mended tear in the rear wrapper up from the lower edge and another internally mended 7 cm tear in the fore-edge each with small chips associated; and one panel of the enormous center four panel gatefold is neatly separated along the fold; still a reasonably good copy of an issue seldom found in ideal condition. Founded by Maxim Gorky and published in the Soviet Union from 1930 to 1941 and 1949 under the general editorship of G. Piatakov. An important issue of this innovative periodical devoted to the Dnieprostroy hydroelectric project with the 'plan' of the issue by El Lissitsky and M. Alpert. The text is by Boris Agapov translated for this English version by D. S. Mirsky. Of special note are four preliminary pages in tribute to H. G. Wells. The photographic component drew on a number of official sources with additional special photography by Alpert and A. Shaykhet. "All the visual strategies of the propaganda photobooks designed by Lissitsky Rodchenko and others were developed in USSR in Construction one of the most beautifully produced magazines of the twentieth century" - Parr-Badger. Pieghevole pubblicitario a 3 falde cm 32,5 x 23 realizzato da Giancarlo Lliprandi costruito attraverso un disegno continuo al recto e al verso raffigurante una sequenza di personaggi. Il pieghevole propaganda un concorso a premi per alunni e insegnanti delle scuole elementari abbinato alle trasmissioni Lo sport di Pacifico e Storie allegre. Lliprandi diplomato a Brera, inizia l'attivita' di graphic design da autodidatta ispirandosi a Boggeri, Huber, Steiner e Munari. Negli anni '50 ottiene importanti commissioni da Rai, Rinascente, Honeywell, Standa, Fiat ed Electa. Negli anni '60 si occupa anche di grafica editoriale (Popular photography italiana). Nel 1979 vince il compasso d'oro per la grafica strumentale della Fiat 131.

L'avvento del BIM (Building Information Modeling) rappresenta un'occasione per coniugare il binomio tra le tematiche della sostenibilità e della digitalizzazione nel settore delle costruzioni. Il volume è costituito da una prima parte introduttiva che affronta una cronistoria sulle buone prassi del costruire sostenibile in architettura e sull'evoluzione del processo di digitalizzazione dell'ambiente costruito. Un excursus temporale che permette di individuare le motivazione che da un lato hanno portato allo sviluppo di politiche energetico-ambientali per la tutela e la salvaguardia dell'ambiente, dall'altro lato l'emanazione di leggi e norme che permettono di standardizzare modelli per la progettazione sostenibile, che permettono di realizzare edifici energeticamente efficienti secondo il target Net ZEB e a minor impatto ambientale mediante l'adozione dei Criteri Ambientali Minimi (CAM). In questo contesto l'evoluzione tecnologica, le competenze professionali e lo sviluppo di software risultano essere la chiave di volta per la digitalizzazione avanzata nel settore edile in ambito pubblico e privato. Una seconda parte del testo mostra l'utilizzo di due software BIM, Revit come BIM Authoring e Termolog Epix come BIM Uses. Tramite l'ausilio combinato di tali software è possibile effettuare analisi solare, dell'illuminazione ed energetica oltre che condurre le verifiche sia per gli edifici ad energia quasi zero che per i criteri ambientali minimi. I contenuti descrivono gli strumenti che permettono di sviluppare progetti con un approccio sostenibile a partire dalla fase embrionale del progetto sino alla completa implementazione. Nella terza ed ultima parte, il volume propone due casi studio che affrontano le tematiche della progettazione sostenibile in ambito BIM. Nello specifico il primo caso studio, di edilizia privata, riguarda la progettazione di una nuova costruzione unifamiliare, mentre il secondo caso studio, di edilizia pubblica, vede l'intervento di ristrutturazione di un edificio scolastico. Tramite l'approfondimento dei due casi studio verranno descritti gli approcci adottati per condurre le simulazioni energetiche e le valutazioni ambientali, mediante l'utilizzo dei due software, al fine di illustrare operativamente le metodologie descritte in precedenza nella seconda parte del volume. A conclusione si riportano delle considerazioni sulle criticità affrontate durante l'intero flusso di lavoro e riscontrate nell'utilizzo dei software.
