This is a very good softcover copy with just light wear. Two previous ownership marks on the inside front cover and title-page, otherwise completely clean throughout. One of the marks is a small bookplate of a well known American stained glass craftsman, the other mark is a small neat handstamp from the American Craft Information Center. Text in Catalan, Spanish, French, German and English. Illustrated in color throughout with 20 color photographs of art nouveau window designs executed in cloisonne (enamel) by Francisco Vidal, a master craftsman of this difficult and demanding technique. Also 22 black & white photographs of other decorative arts objects using this technique of cloisonne. Also 17 color photographs showing craftsmen appling the enamel to a copper lamp. 11" high X 8" wide, about 70 pages.

Frasario per giovane designer ovvero per ragazzo di belle speranze, in cerca di lavoro, anche gratis
ill., br. Design significa progetto. Il termine sottintende quindi un pensiero, un percorso che unisca idea, scopo e prodotto finito. Ma come il pensiero sfugge a regole imposte, così il progetto tende a seguire principi, metodi o mode sempre diversi, assecondando di volta in volta chi o cosa lo governa. "Frasario per giovane designer" contiene frasi che ci mandano un messaggio o soltanto l'istantanea di un mestiere; spunti interessanti, una lettura spassosa, un misto di pomposità e cinismo a fianco di una modestia esemplare o un'apprezzabile ironia taciturna. Smitizzare, divertire, far meditare, anche prendendosi in giro, e giocare con il termine "design": questo è in sintesi il risultato di questo libro. Aforismi, pensieri, considerazioni, e riflessioni rubate a coloro che lavorano in questo settore, ma non solo, per dare vita a un insolito specchio della realtà progettuale che stiamo vivendo. La casualità contribuisce a rendere ancora più sorprendenti certe definizioni lontane tra loro nel tempo: avvicinate però, sulla pagina ci parlano dei dubbi, degli entusiasmi, dei sogni, delle speranze e delle incertezze che protagonisti del design hanno vissuto in questi anni.

Opera composta da due volumi: il primo con sottotitolo Cina-India-America; il secondo Asia centrale-Africa-Vicino Oriente. Volumi appartenenti alla collana cultura contemporanea. Traduzione dal francese a cura di Claudio Stroppa. Titolo originale dell'opera La resurrection des villes mortes. Entrambi i volumi presentano sovraccoperta leggermente macchiata ai piatti e al dorso. Dorso del primo volume brunito. Legature con titoli e fregi solo al dorso, in buone condizioni. Pagine ben salde alla cerniera, con ampio margine, brunite, così come i tagli, che presentano leggera fioritura, così come le controguardie. Presenti tavole fuori testo, su carta patinata, con illustrazioni in bianco e nero, con didascalia. Numero pagine non consecutivo. Numero complessivo delle pagine 874. USATO
