Sir Leslie Ward 1851-1922 English caricaturist and portrait painter signed his works 'Spy.' Sir Frederick Peel 1823-1906 second son of Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel was first elected to Parliament in 1849 for Leominster; later he represented Bury. He was appointed to the Railway and Canal Commission at its establishemnet in 1873 and remained a commissioner until his death. After serving in the British army Major General Sir Reginald Arthur James Talbot 1841-1929 represented Stafford in Parliament from 1869 to 1874. Returning to the army he fought in the Anglo-Zulu War and took part in the unsuccessful Nile Expedition to relieve General Gordon in Khartoum. In 1899 he became General Officer Commanding the British troops in Egypt. He became Governor of Victoria Australia in 1904.
