The book was one of three Mishima novels adapted by Paul Schrader for episodes in his film "Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters" 1985. <br/><br/>Daiei released "Conflagration" "Enj " an adaptation of the same novel directed by Ichikawa Kon in 1958. The title and name of the temple in the film was changed from Kinkakuji after Buddhist opposition threatened problems with filming in Kyoto. Three photographs with Gravaert watermark and five with brief holograph pencil on the versos. <br/><br/>Among the photographs are two fascinating images behind the scenes of an animal pageant: in one a mildly bemused audience spotted with various styles of contemporary women's hat fashion in the other a representative from the youth organization holding a sign reading "Nous cherchons un Maître" We are looking for a Master. A few pageant officials also seen a presenter in horn-rimmed glasses and two dog handlers one resembling noted Hollywood trainer Rudd Weatherwax who trained the original Old Yeller with his brother Frank. The collection consists of two unique but complimentary pieces one being a set housed in the original paper box with "Crumiere / Paris" paper label and annotations on the box top in holograph ink noting French film title and "B. Bardot" the other being nearly 100 smaller photographs elegantly presented mounted on thick stock in a "Lavis aquarelle" brand spiral bound notebook with maroon faux leather front wrapper and an affixed paper title label featuring the film's poster art of Bardot. Several photographs with series number on the verso in holograph pencil a few with rubber-stamps crediting film title and starring actors and photos in notebook numbered at the edges prior to being printed. <br/><br/>Bardot is amply represented in the collection and seen in nearly every image highlighting an array of hairstyles and costumes scenes in the pilot's cockpit snacking between takes dancing being curious at galas. Contact sheets glamour portraits of Madeleine Lebeau action sequences of bar fights and on-the-set images are equally prominent. Negatives show costume design illustrations for men in military uniforms. <br/><br/>Boisrond's fourth directorial credit is a comedy starring Bardot as the flirtatious daughter of the prime minister of France who marries a member of the cabinet Vidal who happens to be a womanizer. Ben Pivar purchased freelance writer Edward Dein's original screenplay and selected Reginald Le Borg to direct. The film would set the standard for the series including the introductory sequence of a crystal ball gazer who warns the audience of impending albeit cinematic doom and the recurrent "stream of consciousness" voiceover. <br/><br/>Chaney is neurologist Mark Steele married to a beautiful and unfaithful wife Maria Ames. Distraught over his wife's infidelity he suffers a blackout only to wake up to interrogators Naish questioning him about his wife's murder. The pairing of the leads was lauded as Charles Bronson was at the height of European fame alongside a well-established Tony Curtis. <br/><br/><br/>Set in 1922 Greco-Turkish War shot on location in Turkey. <br/><br/>Blue titled wrappers.
