The photograph shows Marilyn Monroe Arthur Miller and John Huston on the set of their film The Misfits directed by Huston from a screenplay by Miller and which starred Marilyn Monroe Clark Gable in his last film performance Montgomery Clift Thelma Ritter and Eli Wallach. In the photo Huston Monroe and Miller left to right are sitting next to one another on canvas director’s chairs engaged in conversation. Miss Monroe is wearing a terry cloth robe and has the script open on her lap. The Misfits is a complex drama that was the last film for it’s two lead actors Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable which explores the relationship between a fragile divorcee Monroe and a brooding cowboy past his prime Gable.
