RARE volume containing the first five issues of "Lehavot", a Hebrew publication of the "Hachalutz Hatzair" movement in Poland. "Hachalutz Hatzair" was a youth movement associated with "Hachalutz" movement, which supported an integration of Zionism with socialism, and was largely responsible for the establishment of Israeli Kibbutzim. At first, the periodical appeared irregularly. These issues were published in June 1928, April 1929, June 1929, September, 1929 and November 1929. The issues contain literary works in verse and prose, letters written by Chalutzim in Palestine, and ideological papers on nationalism and socialism, written by members of the organization, some of which would become central figures in the history of the Kibbutz movement.
