Delegates “included both Zionist and non-Zionist groups, all major religious bodies-orthodox, conservative, and reform, the representatives of labor, fraternal, service and social organizations” from all fifty states. The Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry was a British and American committee “tasked to examine political, economic and social conditions in Mandatory Palestine as they bear upon the problem of Jewish immigration and settlement” in Palestine “and the well-being of the peoples” who lived there (Wikipedia, 2016) .
