‎Considéré comme un des plus grands orientalistes de sa génération, sémitisant autant qu'arabisant, historien, linguiste et philologue, Carl Brockelmann (1868-1956) a été professeur à Halle (1909-1920) puis à Breslau (1921-1935) Il est surtout connu pour son “Précis de linguistique” sémitique (“Grundriss der vergleichenden Grammatik der semiiischen Sprachen”), traduit en français en 1910, et son encyclopédique “Geschichte der arabischen Literatur” (Histoire de la littérature arabe), publlée entre 1898 et 1942. Il est également l'auteur d'une grammaire arabe en 1941. Désormais les frais d'envoi sont de 6 € seulement pour les livres jusqu'à 1 kg (colissimo suivi), pour la France métropolitaine.‎
