The passenger list in pamphlet form is torn to near half way at the spine; the news bulletins on newsprint are darkened with age. Probaly scarce assembly of cruise memorabilia. First Edition. A picture of this book A superbly produced work covering the flora, fauna, archaeology, and the ethnology of indigenous peoples of Amazonia. Each section has representative plates, the flora section including six plates on orchids, the fauna section including plates on birds, animals, fish, the archaeology section includes many artifacts, and the ethnology section including illustrations of weapons, handicrafts, etc. The fine plates are from paintings by Hilda Velloso, Armando Pacheri and Georges Julian Simoni. The text is in Portuguese.

A meticulous study of auroral observations taken from winter quarters at Cape Evans in 1911 and 1912 and from winter quarters at Cape Adare in 1911 with appendix on the natural ionisation in closed metal containers. In his introduction Wright ascribes Simpson and Raymond Priestley geologist for the Northern Party for the efficacy of the arduous undertaking. Sir Charles Seymour Wright1887-1975 was a Canadian member of Robert Falcon Scott's antarctic 'Terra Nova' expedition. Wright was the member of the search party to find the tent containing the bodies of Scott Edward Wilson and Henry Robertson Bowers who perished on their return trek from the South Pole. A thorough and scholarly study of gravity featuring foremost Antarctic work executed from the expedition's headquarters at Cape Evans begins with a summary of pendulum observations outlining apparatus features procedures followed formulae and corrections. Observations were performed in Germany's Potsdam 1910 and 1913 New Zealand's Christchurch 1910 and 1913 Wellington 1913 Melbourne 1913 and at Ross Island Winter Quarters Cape Evans in 1911 and 1912. An intricate study with dated observations detailed tables and diagrams throughout. As the title suggests this is about Cheshire it includes such things as within the city walls the royal woodlands poets pathwaysold church lore etc. A very informative book and beautifully written. This is a larger heavy book so post and packaging witll need to be adjusted accordingly. Green boards with two blue lines running down the left hand side. Gold writing to spine and front cover. Bumping to spine top and bottom and minor shelf wear. Hand cut pages.An illustration on the inside cover of a sketch map of cheshire. Nice tight binding and clean pages.
