This is regarded as the first book published in English in South America, greatly expanded from the first edition of 1869. It was a useful handbook for anyone doing business in the region, containing financial, business and much other information, including statistics. It includes 85 pages of fascinating advertisements, some illustrated. Also, there is a directory of thousands of names and addresses for the main cities, including Buenos Aires, Rosario, the provinces, Tucuman, Montevideo. There is a short chapter on the Falkland Islands. Each of the editions of this book contains different material from previous editions.
